Lombardi Returns to Its Rightful Place

Sniiiiiiiiiiifffffffff! Do you smell that people? It's football season, and I absolutely could not be happier that it's back. Enough with the analysis and posturing - it's time to actually play the games. As you can see below, my view of the trendy teams is a little different than most of the opinions out there. For example, I'm not as high on the Jets and Bengals as everyone else. New York backed into the playoffs last year, and the Bengals were lucky that the Steelers and Ravens decided to take the year off. Rex Ryan's group won't sneak up on anyone anymore, and the Chad and T.O. show won't come off very well in the blue-collar AFC North division.

Another lowlight for this year will be the Buffalo Bills. Yes folks, you read that right, for the second time in three years we will see a winless team. After going through every game of the season ten times, I could not find a single game on the Bills' schedule that I felt they had even a good chance of winning.

OK, I'm starting to get a little down with this negative vibe, so let's look at some of the awards that will be dished out this year:

MVP: Drew Brees, New Orleans
Offensive Player of the Year:
Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay
Defensive Player of the Year: Patrick Willis, San Francisco
Offensive Rookie of the Year: Ryan Mathews, San Diego
Defensive Rookie of the Year: Brandon Graham, Philadelphia
Coach of the Year: Mike Singletary, San Francisco

As far as the teams and Super Bowl winner, check out below, and as usual, feel free to let me know what you think of any of the predictions for this season.
