Week Four Power Rankings Well, another interesting week in the National Football League. Because of that, there is once again a lot of movement in the ol' power rankings. Of course, some things stay the same: Dallas is the best team in football, the Rams are absolutely repulsive, and Denver is the best "young" team in the league. Other than that, everything's different. Good luck figuring it all out. |

New York Giants (3-0) | I guess I should have just stuck with the ol' "their number one until someone knowcks them off" cliche.
| 2 |
![]() |
Dallas (3-1) | Shut up, T.O.!!!!
| 3 |
![]() |
Pittsburgh (3-1) | That was a gutty performance on Monday night by a very undermanned Steeler team.
| 4 |
![]() |
Tennessee (4-0) | They literally play some of the ugliest football I've ever seen. It's just excruciating to watch.
| 5 |
![]() |
San Diego (2-2) | They weren't dominating, but they're starting to come around.
| 6 |
![]() |
Washington (3-1) | The rest of the NFC East better watch out, the Redskins are improving....quickly.
| 7 |
![]() |
Denver (3-1) | I'm going to chalk that one up as a mulligan.
| 8 |
![]() |
Philadelphia (2-2) | I understand that they didn't have Brian Westbrook, but Correll Buckhalter didn't play that poorly - and they still lost.
| 9 |
![]() |
Buffalo (4-0) | Even though they won, they don't move up because it took them until the fourth quarter to put away a very bad Rams' team.
| 10 |
![]() |
New England (2-1) | The more I think about that Miami game, the more it bothers me.
| 11 |
![]() |
Jacksonville (2-2) | Watching the Texans run up and down the field on them must have been hard for a defensive-minded coach like Jack Del Rio to swallow.
| 12 |
![]() |
Indianapolis (1-2) | They moved up during the bye week because I still think the best is yet to come.
| 13 |
|
Carolina (3-1) | Granted, it was against the Falcons, but Jake Delhomme looked very impressive in spreading the ball around.
| 14 |
![]() |
Tampa Bay (3-1) | It's nice to see that a great guy like Derrick Brooks can still bring it.
| 15 |
![]() |
Green Bay (2-2) | Mike McCarthy better do something about that run defense soon.
| 16 |
![]() |
Chicago (2-2) | If you simply looked at the stat sheet, you'd wonder how in the hell did they beat Philly.
| 17 |
![]() |
New Orleans (2-2) | I've got to believe that Sean Payton was the happiest guy in the world to see Deuce McAllister toting the rock again.
| 18 |
![]() |
Baltimore (2-1) | Joe Flacco certainly looked like the quarterback of the future. Unfortunately, he made a couple of small mistakes that really put his team in a pickle.
| 19 |
![]() |
Minnesota (1-3) | I'll be interested to see if they try to make a move for a quarterback sometime during this season.
| 20 |
![]() |
New York Jets (2-2) | I hate to go John Madden on everyone, but that was one incredible game, Brett Favre.
| 21 |
![]() |
Arizona (2-2) | Brett Favre just threw another touchdown pass to Laveraneus Coles.
| 22 |
![]() |
San Francisco (2-2) | For supposedly having a "really good" secondary, they sure did get beaten an awful lot - and the Saints didn't even have Marques Colston.
| 23 |
![]() |
Atlanta (2-2) | Even after this week's performance, I'm still pleasantly surprised at the way Matt Ryan's playing.
| 24 |
![]() |
Cleveland (1-3) | Having them this high tells you what I think of the teams below.
| 25 |
![]() |
Seattle (1-2) | When you take a look at their schedule, and combine it with the way they've played so far, I could easily see this team losing ten games.
| 26 |
![]() |
Houston (0-3) | Now that's the Matt Schaub the Texans were hoping they would get. Unfortunately, the defense is not.
| 27 |
![]() |
Oakland (1-3) | Does anyone understand anything Al Davis says or does anymore?
| 28 |
![]() |
Miami (1-2) | If Ronnie Brown continues what he did against the Patriots, will he go to the Pro Bowl as a running back or quarterback?
| 29 |
![]() |
Kansas City (1-3) | I still think they're the second-worst team in football, but when you punch one of the best teams in the mouth for 60 minutes, you deserve a respite.
| 30 |
![]() |
Detroit (0-3) | This season could get very, very, very ugly.
| 31 |
![]() |
Cincinnati (0-4) | Chad Johnson or Chad Ocho Cinco? The way he's playing, is it even relevant?
| 32 |
![]() |
St. Louis (0-4) | Will Jim Haslett make a difference? Ummmmmmm, no. |
