Can't You Hear Me Sleeping?

Sorry guys, but I don't have much time today. Preparation for the radio show this week has bogged me down a bit, and I've run low on time. Don't feel abandoned, though. I spent just as much time making these picks as any other week. So, feel free to bet the house on any of them. Just don't blame me when the wiseguys come to take it.

Picks appear in bold.

Arizona (+8) at Washington                                                                                                                                                         I love Kurt Warner's moxie. He'll play this weekend with his non-throwing elbow in a brace and taped. I think it will wear off on the young team surrounding him.

Atlanta at New Orleans (-8)                                                                                                                                                         I just don't understand Bobby Petrino. You've got a protection problem, so you switch to a less mobile quarterback. In his first year of decision, he's making the wrong ones.

Baltimore (-3) at Buffalo                                                                                                                                                           The Ravens are missing a couple of key defensive stars, but it won't matter.

Minnesota at Dallas (-9.5)                                                                                                                                                        This game was difficult, and for this reason, it will show the psychological makeup of this team. Can they rebound from the one-sided loss last week?

New England (-15.5) at Miami                                                                                                                                                  Are you surprised? And no, they won't suffer from a hangover. Figuratively speaking, Belichick won't even let them drink.

San Francisco at New York Giants (-9)                                                                                                                                  Once again, I only have one thing to say: Trent Dilfer. That's it.

Tampa Bay (+2.5) at Detroit                                                                                                                                                     I'm really beginning to like the emotion and savvy play that Jeff Garcia brings to this team.

Tennessee at Houston (+1.5)                                                                                                                                                   I'm making this pick on the reports that it's very unlikely that Vince Young will play. I'm not sure that's such a good idea. If there's one thing he's proven, it's that you shouldn't doubt him.

Kansas City (+3) at Oakland                                                                                                                                              Oakland is getting better every week. But so is Kansas City, and they had a pretty big head start at the beginning.

New York Jets at Cincinnati (-6)                                                                                                                                                    I just hate the way this Jets team is playing right now.

Chicago (+6) at Philadelphia                                                                                                                                                    Just a gut feeling right here - no real reason for it.

St. Louis at Seattle (-8.5)                                                                                                                                                      Team Starbucks is going to be mad....real mad!

Pittsburgh (-3.5) at Denver                                                                                                                                                     This spread made me scratch my head and wonder what Vegas knows that I don't. You could give me 13 and I'd still take the Steelers.

Indianapolis (-3) at Jacksonville                                                                                                                                                 As much as I like Jacksonville right now, I just can't go against Peyton on Monday Night Football.

Last Weeks Record: 7-4-2                                                                                                                                                    Overall Record: 42-40-7
